This homemade marinara sauce offers rich and lively tomato flavor. This sauce is exceptionally easy to make, so it is perfect for busy weeknights. Just crank open two cans of no-salt diced tomatoes, throw on some DASHTM “Garlic and Herb” seasoning, a few other spices in your spice cabinet and you’re ready to go! This sauce offers lovely, authentic Italian flavor after a 20-minute simmer. This is a great sauce to make in a batch, freeze in some mason jars and pop it out when you need a warm quick easy meal.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 to 5 fresh garlic cloves diced
- 2 cans (15oz) no-salt added diced tomatoes you may also use 3 ½chopped fresh tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons DASH (™) “Garlic and Herb” seasoning
- 1/2 cup fresh basil chopped or 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon fennel seed
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine olive oil, water and garlic. Brown the garlic for about one minute being careful not to burn it.
- Add in the diced tomatoes and bring the sauce to a simmer over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add DASHTM “Garlic and Herb” seasoning, basil, oregano, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, fennel seed and black pepper to the saucepan.
- Serve warm. This sauce keeps well, covered and refrigerated, for up to 5 days. Freeze it for up to 6 months.
